Where I am at right now.

I'm pretty confident that if you started reading this blog at it's inception you are no longer reading it. Which means that if I start getting any hits at all, it's from new readers. I won't belabor the point today, as I am trying to get this post done, but in the future I might do a quick run through of my Crohn's history.

I'll quickly give a snapshot of where I am at right now.

Medicines

So for now I'm taking Azathioprine/Imuran daily. Only one pill a day, that's a little bit better than the 6 daily pills I was first taking. For a while this has been working pretty well. I've felt good and haven't been feeling any flare ups. but...

Symptoms

I'm starting to worry that I'm seeing a few symptoms. Blood, fatigue, etc... If you are new to Crohn's you'll know it's hard to know if you are really in a flare because there are so many other variables... If I ran a marathon, I would be tired from running (you're thinking, "duh?"), but with Crohn's, I might be tired from blood loss, poor nutrient absorption or anything else.

Fitness

I'm pretty out of shape. If you saw me, you wouldn't think so, but I am. I have been pretty lax on the physical activity lately and it's showing... Not only that but I can feel it. I'm sluggish and frankly, I sweat peeling an orange. I just stared the INSANITY workout with my wife. Day 2 and I can tell that there are muscles that haven't been used since high school weight lifting class... just about a decade or so.

Doctor

I don't have a new doctor where I am. I've had bad experiences before and I really want to find someone consistent that I can talk to. I'll do a post in the future about whether I found one and some of the things that I considered.

So there you have it. Just a little bit about what's going on right now. I'll try to update the blog about twice a week. If we start seeing more traffic or (gasp!) a comment. I might try to bump it up.

Relaunch

Awhile ago I put out a post entitled "Is anyone still reading this?"... To say the reception was small would be an understatement.

Then I thought.. I haven't posted anything in years. Why would anyone read this?

So, in the coming days and weeks I'll be tweaking a few things around here and there and try to start posting regularly. I don't know if I will have a great deal to say but I think that having something new up once in a while is refreshing to others who have Crohn's disease.

Anything you want to see on the blog?
